Traffic Ward Service
The Traffic services of the Municipality of Paphos was established in 1983 in order to help to adjust the traffic circulation, the manning of pedestrian crossings, the control of public parking spaces in Paphos and to report traffic violations and nuisance pursuant the provisions of the Local Authorities the Offences Regulated Extra-Judicially Law No. 47(Ι) of 1997 and the Municipalities Law 111/85.
Traffic Wardens are assigned by the City Council. Their duties are set by the City Council with the consent of the Chief of Police and are restricted by Law. They have to do mostly with the control and policing of parking spaces and fining the offenders within the City limits.
Fines
These are notifications serviced to those who commit offences that fall within the jurisdiction of the Local Authorities, such as nuisance and illegal parking and are issued pursuant the provisions of the Offences Regulated Extra-Judicially Law No. 47(Ι) of 1997 and 2000 (articles 5,9,10 and 12). No prosecution is exercised if the fine is paid within thirty (30) days from the fine’s issue date. In case the fine is not paid within fifteen (15) days from the fine’s issue date, there is an increase of half the original amount and is payable within further fifteen (15) days, i.e. within thirty (30) days from the fine’s issue date. Payment can be made at the Traffic services headquarters of the Municipality of Paphos.
Parking Spaces
In order to meet the needs for parking, the Municipality of Paphos has created and operates 14 Public Parking Spaces with a total of 1605 parking plots and eight more are being planned to open (one in Akamantidos Streer, two in Mouttalos, three at the Kings’ Tombs area and two in Kaningos Street) with room for a total of eight hundred cars. Furthermore 211 parking plots are operated in streets with parking meters.
Parking Fees
* Parking per hour at the Public Parking Spaces of Pervola, Kennedy Square (Close to the central Police Station), at the Public Library, Iasonos Street, Apollonos Street, Leontiou Street.
- For 2 hours: 1 euro
- For 4 hours: 1,70 euro
- For 6 hours: 2,50 euro
* At the Public Parking Spaces of Agora, Karavella, Athena Street, Salamina Street and Apostolos Pavlos Street, (close to the Popular Bank) there is the fee of 1 euro for the whole day.
* Parking per hour at the Parking Spaces on Makarios Avenue and Kanari Street: 1 euro per hour.
* Parking at places with parking meters:
For 30 minutes: 0,30 euro
For one hour: 0,50 euro
Monthly Parking Cards :
For hourly Parking Spaces : 25,50 euro
For daily Parking Spaces : 17,00 euro
